Why we made it

Most shampoos were never built for the pace of a working yard. Horses come in sweated, muddy and due back out again, and the wash has to happen whether or not it suits the coat.

A wash that strips the coat leaves you fighting the condition you have just spent weeks building.

So this one was formulated for horses that are washed often. It cleans properly, and it leaves the coat where you want it for the next ride.

What it does

Four things it has to do, every wash.

pH balanced for equine skin

Set for horses rather than for people or pets, which is what makes frequent use sensible rather than risky.

Lifts sweat, mud and residue

It removes what the day put there, including build-up from other products, without drying the coat out.

Oat and sunflower extracts

Oat kernel and sunflower seed extracts in the base, to nourish skin and coat rather than just strip them.

Rinses clean, finishes soft

A rich lather that carries through the coat and rinses out completely. No film, no sticky finish, nothing to undo before finishing.

How to use it

Three steps. Nothing clever.

01

Wet the coat

Thoroughly, before anything else. A half-wet coat gives you a half lather and a patchy rinse.

02

Work up a lather

With a sponge, a mitt or your hands. Give the neck, chest, girth and hindquarters the attention they actually need.

03

Rinse until it runs clear

Keep going past the point where you think it is done. Clear water is the only reliable sign.

Avoid the eyes. For the face, use a damp cloth rather than applying directly. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin.

What is in it

Oat kernel extract and sunflower seed extract, carried in a pH-balanced base built around equine skin. Nothing in it is there to make the bottle look busy.

The mane and tail are a different job.

Detangler & Finisher — Mane and Tail

Keratin, avocado and sweet almond. The comb passes without pulling, and it dries to a natural shine rather than a slippery coating — which matters on a plaiting morning.
